Print Train Ticket Using PNR Number
Booking a railway e-ticket online through IRCTC website now becomes very easy and time-saving process because you don’t need to visit the ticket counter or agent office to book them.
Once your railway e-ticket is successfully booked you need to carry out the print of indian railway train ticket or you can also show the SMS to the traveling ticket examiner (TTE) sending by IRCTC.
The SMS ticket contains details about your journey such as the name of the ticket holder, PNR number, current status of the ticket (whether it is confirmed or wait-listed) and seat number.
Along with SMS or print of ticket, you need to show original identity proof for verification at the time of your journey.
For identity verification, you can use aadhar card, pan card, indian passport, ration card with your photo, school id card or bank passbook.

How To Print IRCTC Train Ticket
Step 1: First, go to the official website of IRCTC or open the Booked Ticket History page.
Step 2: If you are already logged in then you will redirect to the Booked Ticket History page. Here you can find the list of booked ticket history of all time.
Step 3: But if you are not logged in then you will redirect to the dashboard of IRCTC Next Generation eTicketing System.
Step 4: Now tap on the Login button available at the top right corner of the screen. Don’t click on Agent Login button.
Step 5: Once you click on the Login button on the home page. It will open the popup screen to enter user credentials to sign in to your account. You need to type the details such as Username, Password, Captcha code.
Step 6: If you find difficult during the login you can also use the OTP feature by selecting the login & booking with OTP option. It will send a one-time password to your registered mobile number and email id.
Step 7: After you successfully login to your account click on the My Account option available at the top right corner of the page and go to My Transaction > Booked Ticket History.
Step 8: Here you can find the list of booked ticket history of all time. If you can’t see the list then simply contact the support team of IRCTC.

Step 9: To print ticket, first, identify and find the appropriate ticket from the list. Once you identify and find tap on the same to open it.
Step 10: As shown in the below image there are different options available, simply tap on the Print E-Ticket option to save it on your device.
Step 11: The eticket contains the information like reservation point, boarding point, date of departure, time of departure, arrival time, transaction id, pnr number, train number, train name, ticket type, travel insurance premium and quota.
What is PNR
The IRCTC PNR stands for Passenger Name Record is a unique ten digit number that is provided against every confirmed booked train ticket.
That’s doesn’t matter whether you are booked a ticket online through the official website or physically through the railway station ticket counter, the ticket will certainly have a PNR number.
A single passenger name record number is allocated to a maximum six passenger. Once the PNR number is generated the Centre of Railway Information Systems (CRIS) stores this number in the database.
This number is only valid until the journey ends. CRIS also delete this number from their database after 9 months.
Where can I find PNR number
As you know each ticket where is booked through physical counter or online, comes with a unique 10 digit passenger name record.
If you booked a ticket through the online website, the passenger name record number is sent through email and SMS.
If you booked through physical counter then passenger name record number is present on the upper left-hand side of the printed ticket.
