NSDL & UTIITSL e PAN Card Download Online 2019: The Permanent Account Number or PAN is a unique 10 digits alphanumeric identity number issued by the Indian Government to all eligible taxpayers under a section of 139A. The whole process supervision under the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) also maintains the proof of identification in india.
The PAN is a computer-based universal identification tool that tracks all financial transactions taxable by the Indian Government to prevent tax evasion. PAN Card helps to record all tax-related information of person against a single number which acts as the primary key for storage of the personal financial information.
The main idea behind the permanent account number is to achieve Universal Identification of all indian tax payers. This whole system is very similar to the Social Security Number (SSN) in the United States of America. This SSN number is a unique nine-digit number issued to all US citizen to track an individual for security purpose but now it’s become a primary identification number for the taxation process.
Individuals, Association of persons, Co-operative society, Local authority, Body of individual, Limited liability partnership, Firm, Government agencies, Trust, Company, Hindu undivided family, Artificial juridical person and all those whose income are taxable under the Income Tax Act, 1961 are required to obtain a PAN card. The PAN number does not change during the lifespan of the PAN holder.

e PAN Card Download / Reprint PAN Card
In case of your pan card gets lost, stolen, misplaced, damaged or information printed on your current pan card is incorrect then you must need to apply for a duplicate pan card or download copy of pan card online. By doing this the permanent account number assigned to the individual remains the same and you will get an epan card in a pdf file or duplicate pan card.
In case of your pan card lost then first you need to file an FIR before requesting for a reprint of your PAN card. But most of the people are not ready to go through the legal process.

Procedure to download PAN Card online
Recently NSDL and UTIITSL announced a platform where people can download epan card as well as apply for a new one also. In case if your pan card is lost or misplaced then don’t worry with the help of pan number and date of birth you can download an e-pan card in PDF format.
The Central Board of Direct Taxation also introduces the facility to get a soft copy of pan card for the indian citizen. To download a soft copy of pan card you need to follow below step by step process.
NSDL E-PAN Card Download
Step 1: First, go to the official website of Request for e-PAN – NSDL website.
Step 2: Enter your personal details such as:
- PAN Number: Type your 10 digits unique alphanumeric number
- Date of Birth: Select your month of birth and year of birth
- GSTN (Optional): Enter your Goods and Service Tax Network (GSTN) number if available
- Captcha: Enter the captcha code as shown in image
Step 3: After entering all required details simply tap on the submit button and you will be redirected to the next page where you can see the details like PAN, Mobile Number and Email ID registered with your card.
Step 4: NSDL will like to send you an OTP (One Time Password) to your registered mobile number and email id for confirmation. You can select where you want to receive OTP is email id, mobile number or both.
Step 5: In case if your mobile number or email id is not registered with your pan then you can read below article to change/register mobile number in pan card.
How to Change/Register Mobile Number in PAN Card Online 2019 – PAN Card Update/Correction
Step 6: After you select where you want to receive otp you need to check the terms and condition of the Tax information network of the income tax department.
Step 7: Tap on the Generate OTP button and you will receive a one-time password on your registered mobile and email id based on the option you select. Keep in mind that the one time password is valid only for the next 10 minutes. Simply type the OTP and tap on the Validate option to continue.
Step 8: Next page you will see how much free (including GST) you need to paid and transaction id of your request.
Step 9: Tap on the Pay Confirm option and you will be redirected to the BillDesk website to complete the payment. You can pay fees via Credit Card, Debit Card, Internet Banking, Wallet or Cash Cards, BharatQR and UPI.
Step 10: Here I’m going to complete the payment via UPI id (It will take up to 2-3 minutes to complete the payment).
Step 11: Once your payment is successful you will redirect to the payment receipt page and tap on the continue button as shown in below image. On payment receipt page you will see details like transaction status, Transaction Reference Number, Date & Time of Transaction, Payment Amount, Bank Reference number.
Step 12: Tap on the Generate and Print Payment Receipt button to download the receipt in PDF format. And acknowledgment number for your pan card has been created successfully. Take a screenshot of that page or copy the acknowledgment.
Step 13: You can see a message like “Thank you for using the online e-PAN generation facility. Your e-PAN request successfully accepted vide acknowledgment number xxxxxxxxxxxxx.”.
Step 14: Now go to the Download e-PAN page of the official NSDL website.
Step 15: Enter the Acknowledgement number and captcha code – tap on submit button.
Step 16: Next page you will see a piece of information like acknowledgment number, mobile number, and email id.
Step 17: Select the option where you want to receive OTP (One Time Password) from different option and accept the terms and condition – tap on the Generate OTP button.
Step 18: You will receive a one-time password on your registered mobile and email id based on the option you select. Keep in mind that the one time password is valid only for the next 10 minutes.
Step 19: Simply type the OTP and tap on the Validate button. That’s it, tap on the Download PDF button to save it on your device.
Note: The file is password protected and password to open the file is Date of Birth / Incorporation / Formation (in the format DDMMYY).
UTIITSL E-PAN Card Download
UTIITSL facility was available for users who have applied for the new pan card or requested for latest change or correction update. To use these facilities make sure mobile number or email id must be registered with the permanent account number.
Step 1: First, go to the official website of Facility for Download of ePAN Card website.
Step 2: Enter your personal details such as:
- PAN Number: Type your 10 digits unique alphanumeric number
- Date of Birth / Incorporation / Agreement / Partnership of Trust Deed / Formation of Individuals / Association of Persons: Type your month of birth and year of birth in MM/YYYY format.
- GSTN (Optional): Enter your Goods and Service Tax Network (GSTN) number if available
- Captcha: Enter the captcha code as shown in image
Step 3: After entering all required details simply tap on the submit button and you will be redirected to the next page as shown in below image.
Step 4: Here you can see the details like PAN, Mobile Number and Email ID registered with your card (Verify all details are correct).
Step 5: UTIITSL will like to send you an OTP (One Time Password) to your registered mobile number and email id for confirmation. You can select where you want to receive OTP is email id, mobile number or both.
Step 6: Tap on the Get OTP button and you will receive a one-time password on your registered mobile and email id based on the option you select. Keep in mind that the one time password is valid only for the next 10 minutes.
Step 7: Simply type the OTP and tap on the Validate option to generate the acknowledgment receipt. UTIITSL will send the download link of your pan card to the registered mobile number and email id.
Step 8: You will receive a message from UTIITSL within 10 minutes with a download link. Tap on the link as shown in below image and you will receive the second OTP to your mobile number.
Step 9: Type the OTP and tap on the submit button – it will automatically start downloading of your digital copy of pan card.
Procedure To Apply For Duplicate PAN Card
- First go to the office of Tax Information Network of Income Tax Department to get duplicate pan card: https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/endUserRegisterContact.html
- Select Application Type – Choose the “Changes or Correction in existing PAN Data / Reprint of PAN Card (No changes in existing PAN Card)”
- Please select your category – individual, an association of persons, a body of individuals, company, trust, limited liability partnership, firm, government, Hindu individual family, artificial juridical person, local authority.
- Fill all required details in the form such as last name/surname, first name, middle name, date of birth, email id, mobile number, and captcha code.
- Submit the form and you will see a message like your request is successfully registered with the token number and you will also receive mail regarding the request.
- Tap on the continue with PAN application form and you redirected to the next page where you need to submit the documents for verification.
- Select how do you want to submit pan application documents: Submit digitally through e-KYC & e-sign (Paperless), Submit scanned image through e-Sign, Forward application documents physically.
- Enter your details such as Aadhaar number, parents name, mobile number, email id, etc. There is an also option to print your father or mother name on the card.
- After you have filled all required details tap on the next and it will ask you to enter personal details such as an address, source of income, etc.
- Last you need to upload the supporting documents along with photograph and digital signature.
- Once the documents are successfully uploaded you need to make the payment of Rs.115.90. (If you have chosen send physical document option for e-KYC or e-Sign then you need to pay Rs.110) You can make payment using a debit card, credit card, net banking, demand draft, UPI and wallet.
- After the successful payment, you need to authenticate process through Aadhaar card. And OTP will be sent to aadhaar card registered mobile number.
- If your aadhar card authentication is successful then the acknowledgment number will be automatically generated. The copy of your pan card will be sent to your home within 15-days.
