Anne Hathaway is an American actress and singer. She was born on November 12, 1982 in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Millburn, New Jersey. Hathaway showed an early interest in the performing arts and began acting in local productions as a child.
Hathaway’s acting career took off in the late 1990s and early 2000s, when she appeared in several made-for-television movies and had small roles in films such as “The Other Side of Heaven” (2001) and “Get Real” (1999). Her breakout role came in 2001 with the film “The Princess Diaries,” in which she played the lead role of Mia Thermopolis, a shy, awkward teenager who discovers she is the heir to the throne of a European kingdom.
In addition to her acting career, Hathaway is also a trained singer and has performed several songs for films, including “I Dreamed a Dream” from “Les Misérables.”
