A driving license is an official government issued by the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) and Regional Transport Office (RTO) in india. Procedure to check driving licence status
Step 1: First, go to the official website of the Parivahan Seva of Ministry of Road Transport & Highways from any web browser. https://parivahan.gov.in/parivahan/
Step 2: At the menu bar tap on the Online Services option and select the Driving License Related Service option.
Step 3: This service is only available for the selected states, select your state from the drop-down menu and proceed.
Step 4: After selecting the respective state you will be automatically redirected to link where you can check DL status online.
Step 5: On the left side of the page, you will find a section as Driving Licence with lots of option. Simply expand the Apply online option by a tap on it and select the Application Status.
Step 6: It will ask you to enter your application number and date of birth. After you enter all required information click on the submit button to check the current status of your driving license.
Step 7: If you applied through e-Mitra, Camp, E-District or Umang then tap on the “If Application is submitted at other Portals like (e-Mitra, Camp, E-District, Umang, etc.)” option available at the right side. Select your portal and tap on the submit button.
What is Registration Certificate (RC)
A registration certificate or RC is an official document is issued when you officially register vehicle. Apart from a driving license, vehicle owner must have a vehicle registration certificate. This RC certificate proves the ownership of the vehicle that belongs to a specific person.
This certificate is valid for 15 years from the date of issue and you can renew it for an additional 5 years. Also, keep in mind that the temporary registration certificate is valid only for one month and cannot be renewed.
In case if you drive a vehicle without valid RC then you can be fined for the same. So it is very important to transfer ownership of the vehicle to your name if you purchased a used vehicle.
Procedure to check RC status online
Step 1: Visit the official website of the Parivahan Seva of Ministry of Road Transport & Highways from any web browser on your smartphone or computer. https://parivahan.gov.in/parivahan/
Step 2: Scroll down and tap on the RC Status option inside the “Smart Step… For Digital India…” section.
Step 3: It will ask you to enter Vehicle number and Verification code as shown in the image. After enter required details tap on the Search Vehicle option.
Step 4: Next screen you will see your RC status.
